Best Friend: Bandera, her horse of 23 years, whom she boards in Woodside. How she learned about POST: Riding Bandera on the Phleger Estate, protected by POST in 1991.

Why she supports POST: “As a native of Germany, I think POST is tremendously important for people. The organization helps promote what America stands for—openness, a close relationship with nature, regard for wildlife.

“Whenever Bandera and I meet people on the trail who seem receptive, I tell them about all the beautiful, untouched areas where they can ride or hike and how they can link the Phleger Estate with Huddart and Wunderlich county parks to create many long routes without trailering. I try to add a little history. They find it interesting that owners of large estates are eager to see their private domains preserved for the public. Talking to people is the most I can do to further POST’s cause.”
