Bolsa Point Ranches

These 1,719 acres of grassland, farmland and sweeping prairie along the Pacific were once slated for development, with 51 lots ready for building. Instead, they remain in their natural, rugged state, creating 14 miles of contiguous open space east of Highway 1 and 10 miles of unspoiled beachfront west of the highway.

POST purchased Bolsa Point Ranches for $39 million with a combination of private funds and $15 million granted by the Coastal Conservancy and the California Wildlife Conservation Board. Sixty-one acres of the Bolsa Point property were transferred to California State Parks in February 2005.
