Driscoll Ranch

Driscoll Ranch is home to many natural wonders: redwood, buckeye and oak; deer, bobcat, golden eagle, and the endangered tiger salamander. Along with the nearby La Honda Open Space Preserve and the Djerassi Resident Artists Program, the 3,681-acre acquisition creates 10 square miles of protected open space.

POST purchased Driscoll Ranch for $21 million with funds from POST supporters, plus $6 million in grants from the Coastal Conservancy. These donor dollars, borrowed from our land acquisition fund, must be replenished to provide working capital for future land purchases. Once the costs are recuperated and the land is transferred to a public agency, this spectacular open space will be open for public enjoyment.

Transferred to the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District in December 2006.
