Stevens Canyon Ranch

This historic orchard is just one reminder of the rich agricultural legacy of 240-acre Stevens Canyon Ranch. Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the ranch was once a thriving fruit farm that helped earn the Santa Clara Valley its nickname of "the Valley of Heart's Delight." Today, these apple and pear trees still bear fruit at harvest time.

Thousands of acres of natural lands surrounding the ranch are threatened by high-end residential development. But this historic property will be protected thanks to POST, which purchased the ranch in 2005.

Transferred to the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District in January 2007.
