The 63,000 acres of land protected by POST reflect the Peninsula's rich natural diversity and the immeasurable contribution wild and scenic open spaces make to our quality of life.
Thanks to POST supporters, people who live in or visit the San Francisco Bay Area have access to cherished recreation areas. Mountain lions and other wide-ranging mammals can safely travel broad wildlife corridors. And ranching and farming remain vital components of the Peninsula's landscape.
POST's record-breaking Saving the Endangered Coast campaign raised more than $200 million and has protected more than 17,000 acres of precious coastal open space to date. Thousands of acres are still vulnerable to detrimental development. The time to protect these lands is now, while they remain rugged and unspoiled. If we fail to act, the Peninsula's living legacy of natural wildness may be lost forever.
